The Oak at Curthwaite is a modern fine dining Pub and Restaurant in the heart of the village of Curthwaite, just west of Carlisle, run by acclaimed local chef and restaurateur James Hill.

Experience award-winning modern British cuisine and exceptional drinks in a relaxed, vibrant setting here locally sourced Cumbrian produce takes the spotlight.

Since opening its doors in 2024, The Oak has earned a reputation for offering high-quality, great-value food paired with a fresh, contemporary dining experience. Under the direction of James and his talented kitchen team, our menus evolve with the seasons, celebrating the best local ingredients with creativity and finesse.

Guests can enjoy a variety of dining options, including our gastro menu which offers two and three course options, the signature 1711 Tasting Menu with optional drink pairings, a smaller Four-Course Tasting Menu, and a set Sunday Lunch menu.

Also available is James Chefs table for between Four and Eight guests - this table is for our six course tasting menu only and has a view of everything going on in our Kitchen

Lunch: Fridays and Saturdays
Sunday Dining: 12pm – 7pm
